Hope..

I went to give a yoga workshop in

Onagawachou in Sendai,

which is one of the places the

tsunami hit the hardest.

I had been to Sendai once, in May, after the

tsunami hit, but never made it up to Onagawachou.

I was shocked to see that there was still so much debris

even after 9 months.

Some of the buildings are still there, untouched.

To see it again reminded me just how powerful

the tsunami was and that there are still people

missing today.

Just thinking about that made my heart ache.

My reason to go up there was to give a yoga workshop

in the hope that it would give them some energy.

I also heard that the people there just moved to

temporary homes, which only have one bedroom and

a living room, all in all a tiny space for a family to live.

I thought that this yoga workshop would be a good

chance to get out of that small space and just stretch!

In total, I gave three yoga workshops.

Mothers came with their kids and basically

everyone was able to enjoy yoga together.

After the class, there were definitely more smiles on

faces and they all told me they felt good.
