Christmas!

So I went to see the Christmas lights

at City Hall with my friend, Ai-chan.

I always look forward to this time of year

so I can go and see the wreaths inside

the buildings and the Christmas trees.



お友達の愛ちゃんと一緒にクリスマスライトを

見にCity Lightsに行ってきました。


ライトと言っても、ライトだけでは

無く幾つものリース、色々な可愛い面白いツリー

まであるんですよ。

毎年、どんなリース、ツリーに

出逢えるかを楽しみにして行くんです。

建物の中にはまずリース。

学校の子供達、大人などがリースコンテスト

に出展したものが飾られていました。







This time, there were some really cute

and funny decorative concepts.

I saw many wreaths decorated with

a recycled or green theme.

It's really nice to see more and more

people joining the earth/eco-friendly

movement and really bringing awareness

to the table.





こちらが一位を獲得したリース！　







色々なideaの物が沢山ある中、

やっぱり今年はリサイクルの物で

作ってあったり、リサイクルと書いて

あるものが多かったですね。

子供も大人も自然に優しく、守ろうと

考える人が多くなってきた証拠ですね。

In the main room, there were children

taking pictures with Santa Claus.







そして、メインのお部屋では子供達が

サンタさんと記念写真。

中央には数々のツリーが展示されていました。







There were so many types of decorations out there,

like this Japanese origami tree.







そして、なんと日本風の折り紙が飾られた

ツリーもありました。






There were even Hawaii-themed decorations,

like these sandals and a poi Christmas tree!


ハワイらしい、ビーチサンダル！の物や、

ハワイの食べ物、Poi!







Every year, the city also puts out

a gigantic Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

This is always a really popular picture-taking spot.

I wonder how heavy this is, though, haha...like

how many people did it take to move them here?

Next to the Claus's, there's this absolutely huge

Christmas tree!

Just looking at all these lights and

decorations makes me feel so festive...
