First Day.
一日目。
My first boat trip!
人生初のボートトリップの始まり。
行く半年程前から、心から待ちに待っていたこの日がやっと来た！
初だから何を持って行けばいいか、全く解らずパッキングにも時間がかかりました。。
色々と人に聞きながら出来るだけ荷物を軽くして、ショートボードを一本にロングボードを一本、
そして小さいスーツケースを一個。
後日、何を持って行って正解か、何が必要ではなかったかを皆さんにもお教えますね！
きっとこの日記と写真を見終わる頃には、
皆さんもボートトリップに出掛けたくなるでしょうから。
ハワイから、全部で男女１２人。ほとんどが初めて会う人ばかり！
仕事もバラバラ、サーフィンのレベルもバラバラ、というみんなが
これから１０日間を共に過ごして行きます。
I've been waiting for this day for SIX months!
I asked my friends, got some info and started packing some things,
but it was my first time so I really didn't know what to bring.
I finally decided on bringing one longboard and one shortboard
with a small suitcase. My friend told me to not over-pack so
I brought just what I needed.
Later on, I will let you know specifically what I used and what
I did not use on this boat trip so if you do go, you will know
what to bring, because honestly, by the time you finish reading
my diary and seeing the photos, your next vacation will be a boat trip!
まずはBaliから小さい飛行機に乗り、Kupangというまるで
屋久島の様なこじんまりとした空港に到着。
そこからボートの中で食べるお菓子、ラーメンなどの食料を買い込み海へ。
Kupangの島にはぽつんぽつんと建物があるだけ。
Bali, Denpasarからたった３０分で別世界！
たまに、コンクリートの建物があるぐらいで後は、でこぼこ道に土。
Anyhow, there were 12 people from Hawaii: girls and guys,
all with different jobs, and all at different levels of surfing and diving.
We met in Bali to fly into Kupang, which took about 30 minutes (from Denpasar to Kupang).
City-wise, Kupang is an exceptionally different island than Bali.
These are small islands with hardly any concrete buildings.
ビーチに着いたら、迎えていたのは映画にでてきそうな海賊船！
深い木の色が味を出している渋い感じの船。とっても大きくて、びっくり！！
乗った瞬間、すみからすみまで見渡して、私は興奮気味！
The roads are all bumpy and rocky.
We went to a store to get some snacks and saimin to take on the boat and rode in a car
for about 30 minutes to get to the beach where the boat, Moana was parked.
When I saw the boat, I just couldn't believe how classic it looked!
It's like a pirate ship from a movie!!
これからの行き先を地図を見ながら決めて。
Thankfully, it was pretty large and made out of a dark type of wood.
As soon as I got on, I couldn't help but look at everything on the boat.
I was so excited!
長旅を終え、リフレッシュの為に出発前に海に飛び込み、出発準備OK！
サンセットを背中に１０日間の海の上での旅が始まりました。
I jumped in the water to refresh myself, then we all got ready to leave...
