Beautiful poem...
This poem went straight into
my heart and made me cry.
It is very true when you are running
through your life with fast speed,
you tend to forget what's very important in your life.
This is a poem written by a teenager with cancer
in a New York Hospital.
今から書かれているポエムは、
ニューヨークの病院に入院している
ガンと戦っている少女の書いた物です。
すーっと私の心に入り、気が付かないうちに涙が溢れてきました。
忙しい毎日を過ごし、早いスピードで
人生を送っていると日々の生活の中の
大事な事を忘れがちなんですよね。
SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a
butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,'Hi'
You'd better slow down.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
This young girl has 6 months left to live,
and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter
telling everyone to live their life to the fullest, since she never will.
She'll never make it to prom, graduate from high school,
or get married and have a family of her own.
Please take a moment and look around.
There might be something you are missing,
something important.

SLOW DANCE
メリーゴーランドに乗っている子供をゆっくりと
眺めた事がありますか？
地面に叩き付けられる雨の音に耳を傾けた
事がありますか？
蝶の不安定な飛び方を目でおった事がありますか？
または、色あせる夜まで太陽を見つめた事がありますか？
スローダウンしないと
そんなに早く踊らないで
時間は短いから
音楽は長くはつずかないから
毎日早いスピードで一日を駆け巡っていますか？
元気ですか？と聞くと、
返事を待ちますか？
一日が終わり、ベッドに横になる時に
頭の中に幾つもの雑用が頭の中を駆け巡りますか？
スローダウンしないと
そんなに早く踊らないで
時間は短いから
音楽は長くはつずかないから
自分の子供に明日するからとあなたの迅速で言い、
子供の悲しみが見えませんか？
電話一本かける時間がなく、仲の良い友達と連絡を
取り合わなくなって良い友情を無くした事がありますか？
スローダウンしないと
そんなに早く踊らないで
時間は短いから
音楽は長くはつずかないから
一つの場所、事に急いで向かうと
そこに行きつくまでの時間の半分をミスしている。
心配して、急いで一日を駆け抜けると
開けられる事が無かったギフトの様に
捨てられてしまう。
人生はレースではない。
もう少し、ゆっくりと
音楽に耳を傾けて
歌が終わる前に。。。
このポエムを書いた子は、余命６ヶ月。
彼女の願いは、このポエムを沢山の人に読んでもらう事。
最高に充実した人生を送ってもらうために。
あっという間に終わってしまう彼女の人生。
学校の卒業式にも、パーテイーにも、
結婚も、もちろん自分の子供を産む事も無いまま。。。
忙しい毎日、たまには立ち止まって
回りをよ～く見渡して見てはいかがでしょう？
私も忙しい毎日を過ごしている中で、
大切な事、大事な事を忘れずに
常に自分の心と向き合って生きて行かないと。
愛溢れる人間になれるように。。
そして、今日という日が最後になった時に
最高の人生だった。と言える様に。。。
