Surf!!!!

I surfed at Haleiwa today. It was about 5ft (Hawaiian scale).
The current was so strong that I was constantly paddling.
Did you know that Hawaiian scale is different than Mainland scale??
In Hawaii, we scale waves from behind. In Mainland, it's from the front side.
So, Hawaiian 5ft is 10ft in Mainland scale.

ハワイアンサイズで５ftぐらいでした。
皆さん、知っていますか？？
ハワイアンサイズというのは、波の後側から測ったもの。
Californiaなど本土では波の前から測るので、５ftのハワイアンサイズは本土では１０ftになるのです。
なので、ハワイの人が今日は３ftだよ！と言っても気を付けて下さいよ．
特にハワイはポイントが遠いので、岸から見ると小さく見えるからよ～く波を見てから入って下さいね(^-^)/。
