ある日、アーニャは夕方のニュース番組を見た。南東北に梅雨前線がかかり、河川が氾濫した画像付きで長々と報道する。普通ならそこで次の番組へ移る時間に別のトピックに代わった。それが済むと、また大雨特別警報に戻った。この繰り返しで４５分延長されたニュースに続く番組を見ながら晩ごはん食べて寝た。
１７文字では伝えきれない宇宙空間からの情報を見て、毎年同じ時期に起こる自然災害を完全に防ぐことは今の技術では無理だと理解するアーニャであった。
