ある日、アーニャは会場へ行った。今日はそこでかっぱ祭りが開催される。
供養祭での読経を終えたら、幼稚園児のかっぱ踊りなどステージ発表に移り、屋台も開かれた。どれもかっぱに因んだショーや商品で賑わう祭りを楽しんだアーニャはかっぱの形をした今川焼きをテイクアウトで帰宅した。
家に帰ったアーニャは、それをお茶と一緒に食べた。日が暮れると晩ごはん食べて寝た。
鰐を見たことある現代人には人面獣のかっぱは別な生物であり、鰐を知らない昔の人はそう表現するしかないことに「百聞は一見にしかず」を身に持って知るアーニャであった。
