What is the power of makeup or beauty products?
-I believe the beauty industry is all about empowerment. It’s empowering a person to feel their best, to look their best and to have the confidence to accomplish their best. Makeup enables you to express a given look, skin care takes care of your skin and enables makeup to look its best. Both of these categories that give you confidence that you are looking your best at any given moment. That confidence translates to your work, your family, your friends, empowering you to be the best version of who you are. And what I love about the beauty industry, sometimes this happens to me. Our products give you the ability to look your best, even though you might not have had a full night’s rest, even though you may have been working very hard and don’t have as much energy as you would like. And that confidence gives you the power to be the best person you can be every day. I think that’s an incredible aspect of our beauty overall.
-So, may I ask what you keep in mind when you’re expressing your true self?
-I try to always be authentic to who I am. I also, you know, try and take learnings that there’s a lot of things I still do not know, and I’m always in a curious quest to learn more about others, to learn more about my industry. And, you know, where I can learn is from everyone. There isn’t one person to learn from. The final piece is the globe has been the best teacher I could ever ask for, meaning going to a place where you’re unfamiliar, it’s outside of your comfort zone, that’s gonna be the best teacher. Because you have to adapt to wherever the location that you’re living versus the people around you adapting to you and that’s an amazing motivator of learning and it will continually give back to you and you’ll bring those learnings into the future.

Quest is a mission, challenging task or a search which could feel like an adventure. Mr. Aquilina talked about a quest to learn more about others and his industry. This quest refers to the long and difficult journey he faces, which will end with rewards or benefits. Those who play video games may already be familiar with the word, quest, and recently the term side-quest has made its way into school and the workplace. A side-quest is an optional task. For example, the professor wants us to read this book. It’s just a side-quest, but I think it will help me on the test.

A person may also have to adopt to the local food, meaning they changed their eating habits or preferences so they can eat the local food without any problems.
