If you could talk to yourself in the past, what would you say?

The first person we'll introduce is Owen. He's from the US.

-I would tell myself to go to bed earlier so that I can wake up the next day and perform better in school.

Oh, that's really good advice, Owen. We all could do with a little more sleep.

The next person we'll introduce is Olga. She's a New Yorker.

- Um I would say,Take fewer things personally, look at the bigger picture and you're ganna be a much happier person.

Again, that's some great advice. And I love how Olga connects it to being a happier person.

Okay. Now we'll introduce our last person Rafael from Mexico.

- I would.. listen to my parents, listen for advice and then do what I wanted to do, but respecting my parents advice.

Oh, I think it's beautiful, Rafael. It shows you can still live your own life but also respect your parents.
That's rigth. We're all affected by what our parents want or expect. That's good advice to have some balance.

If you could talk to yourself in the past, what would you say?

-I would say, Don't be so hard on yourself and be kinder to yourself. Focus on the positive and keep moving forward.

Oh, that's great advice.

Actually, that's the same for me and maybe the same for you as well.

So when you hear your own English or you feel frustration, Jenny's advice maybe very useful. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Let's finish up our journey around Oklahoma USA with this...

For this season of our Eikaika time trial, we're going around the globe.
Virtually and we're practicing English coonversations.

And our navigator for Olkahoma is Jenny.

You're doing a homestay at our family farm.
So today's virtual home stay is special. You have a souvenir from Japan.
First step is to use your imagination.

Imagine this...
Your host family that's including me are all relaxing in the living room.

Oh, and you have a souvenir for us. -Thank you so much. What kind of survenior is it?

So can you imagine today's situation?

You practice some techniques and phrases this week. Use those phrases, but do it on your own way, and complete the conversation.

Well, good evening.

-God evening!

Oh, Fido. Get off the recliner. And Billy turn off the football game. We have company. Sorry, they're all so rude.

-Oh, please don't mind me.

Have a seat anyhwere. Go ahead.

-I'll just stand for now. Thanks though. I have something for you all. It's just a little present.

A present! Oh, you sweet heart. Is that for us?

-Yes. It's a little something from my hometown.

So,What is it?

-It's like a Jpaanese dessert. Sometimes people call this a sweet rice cake. In Japanese it's daifuku. So they are round rice cakes with sweet beans inside. I hope you like them.

That's wonderful. Now we would like to get something for your family in Japan. We insist. What kind of souvenior from Oklahoma should we get for your family?

-Well, we can't bring back a nice Oklahoma steak. And we can't fit an Oklahoma pumpkin in my suitcase. Maybe my dad would like some cowboy boots from Oklahoma.

---

Good evening, y'alll. Y'all means attaching and it's a nice way to connect with people who live in the south because it's a good local phrase.

And next Jenny said, sorry, they're all so rude. - Oh please, don't mind me.
