甘いのは本当別腹だよね。
I try to limit how often I eat sugary foods to about twice a week, but… it’s not going so well. Haha. But I should start cutting back soon, or I’ll probably age like crazy in my 30s. That thought kinda scares me, so I’ll try to be mindful—without stressing too much.

In Japan, we have a saying: “There’s always room for dessert.” And honestly, I feel like that phrase was made for me. The fuller I am after a meal, the more I somehow have space for sweets. It’s seriously such a mystery.

Apparently, a recent study in Germany identified the actual “second stomach” for sweets—it’s a group of neurons in the brain called pro-opiomelanocortin neurons (POMC neurons). When mice were given sugar, these neurons switched on instantly, making them crave more food even if they were full. That’s literally the science behind “there’s always room for dessert”!

instantly の意味は 「即座に」「すぐに」「一瞬で」 です。
She answered the phone instantly. → 彼女はすぐに電話に出た。
