Hello everyone!
Today I would like to share with you an original restoration request.

Cadets at the Army Aviation Academy.

Since the beginning of the 15-year war, training at the "Military Aviation Academy" had become very rigorous.
However, says one former student, he will never forget the thrill he felt from putting on his flight suit.  ...no matter how old he gets.

Army air service uniform officially adopted in 1914. For winter, a fur-lined vest was worn over the leather flight coat, for added warmth.

Left: Before restoration
Right: After restoration

(1) Attaching the missing star insignia

(2) Connecting the strings that were cut in the middle

(3) Sewing the torn part

Now, let's look at the flight helmets after restoration!

This flight helmet is made of cowhide. (Most flight helmets after this one are made of goatskin.) It is sturdy and elaborately made.

The lace-up portion on both sides appears to be hand-sewn.
This lace-up allows the front and back to be tightened and adjusted.

The head is lined with cushions.

There are ear holes for Gosport.

Snaps are attached at the top and bottom in two stages.

The interior is also fully lined with cowhide leather.
The inside edges are cushioned.

Once the Gosport is fitted, it is adjusted and fastened with two levels of snaps.

You can see the leather on the ear part is flexed.

The client is committed to preserve it as a historical heritage for the future.
I feel the same way and have restored a rare flight helmet.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

That's all for today.

See you again!ランニング
