In the fall of 2023, I had an Agastya leaf reading session.

I reached out to the below Indian travel agancy. They specialize spiritual tours in India:

Initially, they ask you to send your fingerprint. Then they will pick up some bundles of the fingerprint group similar to yours for the session.

My leaf was found after about an hour of Yes/No questions.

(According to my Indian colleague, her entire family had their leaves read when she was 2 years old, and one person's leaf took quite a while to find, taking two days to finally locate.)

Saint Agastya left detailed summaries, almost to the point of, "How can they see this much?" I felt deeply grateful for leaving me so many messages for me living in this time.

The content included:

1. The previous life (the one right before the present life) and its karma
2. How the current life is
3. Luck and family health every 2-3 years after resolving karma vs. its parallel world if karma isn't resolved

From the moment they read the names of my parents written in ancient Tamil on my coconut leaf, as well as my husband's English name, I felt like there was no other choice but to "resolve karma".

Despite the communication leading up to the remote reading session being very smooth for an Indian company, I started to worry a bit when, after paying the hefty fee for karma resolution (around $2300), I only received empty replies saying "It's being arranged" no matter how many reminder emails I sent.

I heard somewhere that scamming in the process of Agastya's karma resolution would be considered a very bad deed in Hindism, so I patiently waited without going crazy.

When I consulted with my Indian colleague at work, she offered to tell her Indian family about it to help me. So, I started to think it might be serious... therefore, I finally directly called Mr. Ranjan in India.

Despite the suspicious sudden call from overseas, Mr. Ranjan readily answered, and I said, "Um, I'm starting to worry if this might be a scam, so I'd be really happy if you could seriously arrange it soon... I've paid the fee in full." This seemed to have an effect, as karma resolution progressed one week later (phew).

My karma resolution involved:

- Offering water from the Ganges in a water pot
- Visiting three Hindu temples
- Donating clothes and meals to underprivileged children
- Chanting a mantra in praise of Lord Vishnu on the day of the new moon
- Not eating meat on Tuesdays (because my past karma is related to meat)

Although the point of karma resolution was not to eat meat, strangely enough, I hadn't felt like eating meat (especially chicken) at all since about six months before this session. Even though I'm Japanese, I didn't even crave sashimi anymore; it started to feel uncomfortable if I forced myself to eat it. So, I thought, "Ah, this must be why," and since this reading session, I've been making dishes without meat for my children, without even tasting them myself, and completely stopped eating leftovers. I feel great.

Thanks to the direct call, the subsequent process of karma resolution proceeded smoothly, with arrangements made one after another. Especially the temple visits were live-streamed (thank you, technology!!), and it was kind of like a fire ceremony; there were two or three times when they asked me to invite the smoke above my head. Three to four monks prayed for me for a full hour.

I've always liked fortune-telling since I was a child, and the Agastya leaf reading can be said to be the ultimate fortune-telling. Despite my husband calling it a rip-off in India for $2000 lol, I'm glad I did it!!
