Oct. 21 - Mutsumi-ya *****-----
Went to 'Tokyo Ramen Street' located at B1 in Tokyo station hoping to eat in 'Rokurinsha'.
When I got there around 11:30 am, There is already a long line of people standing for Rokurinsha. A sign said it would take more than an hour to get in.
I was shocked and gave up standing in the line and chose the shortest line, which was 'Mutsumi-ya'. It was OK ramen. Koji - or rice malt - gave a kind of artificially thick taste.

Oct. 23 - Bonkura *******---

Went to Bonkura in Hino for lunch.
Ordered 'Gottsu', which I don't know the meaning. But it is a combination of Tonkotsu and Shoyu. Soup is really good with thick but smooth pork flavor.

Oct. 24 - Taishoken Hachioji ******----

It was more than 10 years ago when I went to Taishoken Ikebukuro which is probably the most famous ramen shop in Japan because of its long line of people waiting and its charismatic chef.
Chef at Taishoken Hachioji learned ramen in Taishoken Ikebukuro. The taste reminded me of the original taste.

How could the very rich fish flavor taste be made?
I say it's magic.

Kaede is one of my favorite ramen shops. It offers special ramen every season. The autumn special is 'Murasaki-Imo to Naga-Imo source no Tan-tan-men', which literary means 'Spicy ramen with two kinds of sticky potatoes'.

$Bike, Lunch and Ramens ...-kaede season's special

If a food is spicy, you can hardly tell the difference in taste. But I found the very spicy soup of the season's special was really tasteful. It has very thick flavor of fish and pork.

My score : 4 (1 - 5)

By the way, I took my family to another ramen shop - Yanshuu Shonin - the other night.
It was ramen shop with Chinese style cooking. I ate 'Su-La-tan-men', which was spicy sour noodle. My score is 2.5. Taste was good, though it was a bit expensive.

After visiting cultural festival of my daughter's junior high school in downtown Tokyo, I went to a ramen shop called Tsujita in Kojimachi. It was a tiny shop with only 8 or 9 seats. Because of small number of seats available, there were several people waiting in front of the shop when I got there.

Menus look a bit expensive. But what I chose was the most expensive one - Tokusei Nidaime Tsuke-men, which literary meant 'The shop's special Tsuke-men'. I was not sure what is special. But the difference from other Tsuke-men is its toppings. Thick chunks of Charshu were added to the soup.
The soup was similar to that of Aoba. But actually it was better than Aoba. After eating one third of noodle, adding citrus flavor to the noodle was recommended. I took that and it was really good.
Then I added special seasoning spice, which changed the taste again.

Probably, you don't have to order the most expensive one. The 'Nidaime Tsuke-men' must be good enough in terms of volume of Charshu.

Anyway, this shop is great. My score for the shop is 4.5 out of 1 - 5 scale.
