Firefly-shibori workshop in Fujino
I joined the first class last month.
(I'm very behind of uploading this post)
I like the name very much,
and
the pattern
which resembles fireflies flying at night
is lovely.
This technique was new to me,
so I listened my instructor's explanation carefully.
The first step was to make cotton balls.
The cotton is natural from cotton plants.
Making cotton balls were more difficult
than I had expected.
But
they were cute like tiny white pumpkins!
After class
the instructor showed us a process of
making composted indigo leaves called "sukumo."
After that
we went out for lunch!

The next class is next week.
I can't wait for it and
I hope I can enjoy autumn leaves in Fujino.
