宇宙本来のあり方
初めての個展「はじまりの日」で発表した作品です。
「一圓相」
禅の言葉になりますが、
この言葉を説明するのにはとても難しく思う
今日このごろです
私がこの言葉を選んだ理由は
今回の個展が今迄の私の全てになるとの想いからでした。
そして、この作品を書き上げるのは容易ではありませんでした。
自分の表したいイメージと
今の自分か書けるものとが
なかなか合致しなかったのです。
作品を書く時に、もっと良いものを書きたいとの
欲がでてきますが、
自分の実力を知る事も大切だと実感させられながらの
制作でした。
今回、こちらの作品は海を渡って
スコットランドにお嫁に行く予定です。

一圓相 reads “ICHI-EN-SOU”.
Please read from right to left in the artwork. My cousin adopted old style. Japanese changed the way (from left to right) after World War 2.
ICHI : You probably know this Kanji. ICHI means one.
EN: 圓 is also old style Kanji. We commonly use ‘円’ for this nowadays. EN means “Yen” of our currency and “circle” as well. That is why she wrote a circle above this Kanji.
SOU: This Kanji itself means “partner” “chemistry”.
You may think this word means JPY1, but NO~!! It’s not. To be honest, I did not know the word.. I looked it up.
EN-SOU is one of calligraphic works/paintings from ZEN religion (Buddhism). EN-SOU has large and deep meanings – such as Enlightenment, Truth, Buddhahood, the universe/cosmos. The circle above the Kanji, EN, describes all these meanings symbolically. Circle shape is a perfect shape because it does not have the end, cracks, over = the universe.
What it means is up to your heart.
My cousin picked up this word for her first exhibition because she liked this word and thought her artworks describe her life.
