After Mineko spent the first Sunday in Tokyo, she caught up with other girls about the day over a bottle of soda. (The girls didn't have a lot of money so they shared a single bottle.)
Tokiko managed to get an application sheet of a drama audition. She is planning to go.
Sachiko had a fight with her boyfriend although it didn't seem a serious one.
And the first Sunday was over and a new Monday started. Mineko, who had been working for a week at the company, got used to work. Her boss was happy about her performance now.
Mineko wrote some letters to her folks in Ibaraki. They enjoyed reading them.
Mitsuo also sent a letter to his family. It says he is doing very good in Tokyo. But actually, he has spent a really hard time at work because the rice shop he works is run by a father and a daughter who have bad relationships with each other. However, he didn't mention his painful position in his letter. His mother misses him a lot and reads the letter over and over again.
Meanwhile, Watanuki kept searching for Father. And finally, he found a guy who said he saw Father!
