On the first day off, a police officer named Watanuki visited Mineko of the dorm. He is the police officer from Ibaraki prefecture who offered cooperation for searching Father. Gathering attention of the other girls in the dorm, Watanuki took out Mineko for a cafe.
Mineko ordered 'cream soda' for the first time in her life and was impressed with the taste of it.
Mineko thanked Watanuki for being kind to her family. Asked why he was so kind to her family, Watanuki told that he wanted to help each other because they were from the same prefecture. And that people from Ibaraki tend to become lonely in Tokyo compared to those who are from Tohoku region.
And then, Mineko and Watanuki visited the dorm of the construction company where Father used to work. Mineko was really shocked to see the disgraceful atmosphere of the dorm. (Mineko insisted to visit there although Watanuki was reluctant to show the place to her.)
On that day, Mineko came back to the dorm depressed. Aiko and other colleagues warmly greeted Mineko, so Mineko felt relieved to feel like she came home.
