〇「安全第一主義」が一番リスクが高い
日本の学校では「みんなそうしている」を教える。私の教えていたアメリカの中学校では「みんなと違うことをやりなさい」と教える。文化の違いと言えばそれまでだが、同じ世界を生きて競争になると日本が必ず負ける。
「安全第一主義」の象徴が、制服、ブラック校則、強制部活。なぜ同じ服を着なくてはいけないのだろう。なぜ下着の色まで学校が介入できるのだろう。なぜ全員がやりたくもない部活を強制されるんだ？それは、みんなが同じだと集団心理が働き「何となく安全」と感じるからに他ならない。そして、全員同時に沈没していく。
ダーウィンが言うまでもなく生き物は多様性に富んでいる。だから、環境が激変しても「どれかの種は生き残る」。みんなが同じだと、全員一斉に滅亡するリスクが高まるものだ。
In Japanese schools, they teach "that's what everyone else does. In the American junior high schools where I taught, they teach "do something different from everyone else. It may be a cultural difference, but when it comes to competition in the same world, Japan always loses.
The symbols of "safety first" are school uniforms, black school rules, and forced club activities. Why do we have to wear the same clothes? Why does the school have the right to control the color of underwear? Why are we all forced to participate in club activities we don't want to do? The reason is that when everyone is the same, the group mentality kicks in and everyone feels "somehow safe. And then they all sink at the same time.
Needless to say, Darwin said that living creatures are rich in diversity. Therefore, even if the environment changes drastically, "some species will survive. If they are all the same, the risk of all of them dying at the same time is something that will increase.
