都心から京王線で約50分。
たくさんの登山者でにぎわう「高尾山」。
Mt. Takao is located in the western part of
Tokyo. It takes about 50minutes from Shinjuku St.
by the Keio line.
It's popular among the climbers.
標高600メートルの山の上には、
高尾山薬王院有喜寺があります。
It's 600meters above sea level.
At the top is the "Takaosan Yakuouin Yuukiji Temple".
開山は744年。
It was founded in 744.
もともと、薬師如来をご本尊としていたので
「薬王院」という名前になったのだそう。
真言宗智山派の大本山です。
Originally it was dedicated to the "Yakushi nyorai",
(Buddha who can cure all illnesses)
So it was named " Yakuouin".
It's the Grand head temple of the Shingon sect
of the Chizan-ha.
1375年に現在のご本尊
「飯縄大権現」（いずなだいごんげん）を
奉るようになり、
戦国時代は武将の守護神として崇拝されたそうです。
In 1375, the temple was dedicated anew
to the "Izuna Dai Gongen".
During the age of Civil Wars,
a lot of Samurai worshiped Izuna Dai Gongen
as a guardian Buddha,
山の上へと登っていけばいくほど、
確かにパワフルなエネルギーを感じることができました。
The higher I climbed, the energy became more powerful.
