Finally what I've been waiting for,
American Idol has started!
とうとう待ちに待った
アメリカンアイドルが
始まりました～
The regional auditions have finished and
the Hollywood audition has started.
This week is finally the group round.
地方予選が終わって
いよいよハリウッド予選が始まり、
次はグループ選抜です
The group round is interesting because
you can see the people with good and
bad personalities.
Some people care for the other people
in the group, and some are very self-
centered and arrogant.
グループ予選って、
人それぞれ性格の良い人と
悪い人がわかって
おもしろいんです
グループの他のメンバーに対して
思いやりのある人もいれば
なかには自分勝手な人も
It's even more fun after the Top 20 is
decided, and when the votes start
I'm glued to the TV!
トップ20からはさらにおもしろくて、
視聴者投票が始まってからはもう、
毎週テレビにくぎづけです
Last season, we couldn't wait to find out
the results so we went to the American
Idol website and checked them out when
it was announced in the US, because in
the US they competed every Monday and
the votes were announced on Wednesday.
In Japan, the show is on Saturday and
the results come out on Sunday so we
were watching the show already knowing
the results.
前回なんて結果が待ちきれず、
アメリカのアメリカンアイドルのサイトを
現地時間でチェックして、
日本の放送の時には
結果がわかったうえで観てました
It was fun watching even when
I already knew the results.
It's kind of like Back to the Future
or Doraemon.
結果を知ってて見るのもなかなかです
バックトゥザフューチャーとか
ドラえもんの気分
This season, Jim Carrey's daughter
was auditioning for the show.
She couldn't pass the first round in
Hollywood though.
Too bad...
今シーズンはなんと、ジム・キャリーの
娘さんが一般人と一緒に
オーディションを受けに
でもハリウッド予選で落ちてしまって
ざんねん
Her dad is a Hollywood celebrity but
she's raised just like anyone else and
I was very impressed.
お父さんセレブなのに、
娘さんはいたって普通に育ってて
とっても好感をもてました
