いよいよ夏本番ですね！
今年の７月は、夏休みで海外から日本を訪れたり、帰郷したり、地方から東京に里帰りしている友人がなんとも多いこと！毎年この時期は多いのですが、今年は過去最高ではないかと思います。
都内の色々な所へ行っているので、少しずつご紹介できればと思います。
まずは、毎年恒例の隅田川花火大会についてです。
The oldest fireworks festival in history is the one at Sumidagawa River. It originally started in 1733 to pray for the souls of the victims of the disasters and to drive away the evil disease. 歴史上一番古い花火大会は、隅田川のものです。もともと慰霊祭として、災害の犠牲になった方の魂を慰めたり、悪い病を祓うために１７３３年に始まりました。

以前にも勉強しましたが、「花火」は英語で、”fireworks"です。
ですので、「花火大会」は "fireworks festival" となります。
これから秋にかけて、続々と花火大会が開催されます。
