ロレアル傘下のガルニエ社が「製品の販売員に白人女性しか雇用していない」としてフランスの裁判所で有罪判決を受けましたが、ロレアルのグループ会社であるランコムの顔として起用されたケイト・ウィンスレットと、同じくランコムの男性用スキンケア製品の広告モデルを務めているクライブ・オーウェンにも、“人種差別している会社の製品を宣伝している”と人権団体から圧力がかかっているそうです。
人権団体Racial Equalityの代表は「我々は、有名人広告モデルの皆に、この組織と関係を持ちたいかどうか慎重に考えていただきたい」「人種差別に反対して立ち上がるのは（有名人にとっても）素晴らしいチャンスではないですか。今日の社会に人種差別の存在できる場所はないのだということを示すことができるのですから」と語っているようです。
結果ケイト＆オーウェンは微妙な立場に立たされているとか。
