ペレーズに到着しました。

お元気でしょうか。最近忙しくて、更新をすっかりさぼっていました。

フィリピンに来て約１か月半、

スタディーツアーやJICAのセミナーを経て、ついに活動地のペレーズへやってきました。

マニラからバスと船で約８時間。片道だけで小旅行です。

ペレーズはアラバット島の小さな地区です。

美しい海と砂浜、ココナッツやバナナの木がたくさん生えていて緑豊かな素敵な場所です。

フィリピンに７０００以上ある島々の、よくある田舎の小さな島という感じです。

ここの田舎町タウンプロパーで商店をしているお家に下宿させてもらって活動期間を過ごします。近くにはカトリック教会や小学校、幼稚園があって常に子供たちの声や鶏の鳴き声で賑やかです。

オフィスにはフィリピン人スタッフ４人がいて、楽しく仕事をしています。

ペレーズ全体コーディネーターのアレン。ファンキーな格好ですが、とっても頭が良くてキレッキレの仕事ぶりです。頼れる兄さん的な存在。

アビー。元気たっぷりの明るいお姉さん。フェアトレード担当、青年会担当。

ジェン。おしとやかで笑顔がとっても素敵。奨学金プログラム担当。

リサ。落ち着いていてしっかり者。奨学金プログラム担当。

こんな４人のスタッフに囲まれて、仕事を行っています。

また、仕事内容については更新していきたいと思います～。

トンド・ピナツボ地区へ行ってきました。

フィリピンでは毎日暑い日が続いています。

これでもまだ乾期なので涼しいそうです。4月、5月に入るともっと気温が上がるとか。。。

少し、生活にも慣れましたが、慣れたつもりで気が抜けていたのか週の初めにスリにあってしまいました。。。。残念。。。気を引き締めなければ！

マニラ貧困地区トンド地区へ行きまし。スモーキーマウンテンから人々が移動し、一時的な定住地のはずだった場所を結局ずっと住まわざるを得なくなってしまっている。小さな子供たちの姿が多く、衛生的な心配をすごくしてしまう。地面はあらゆる種類のゴミと食べ残しなどがいたるところに散乱し、ぬかるんでいる場所も沢山あった。雨季になるともっと環境は悪くなるそうだ。ACCESSのプロジェクトの一環で活動をしている青年会のメンバーと話すことができた。話の中でトクハン（ドゥテルテ大政権の下行われている薬物取締政策）によってトンド地区に頻繁に警察が出入りし、銃弾がメンバーの家の壁を突き抜けたこと、母親が子供をあやしているときに罪もなく頭を撃たれて死亡したことなど、悲惨な現状を聞いた。弱い立場の人々が警察によって人権を侵害されている様子がよくわかった 。

It has been very hot in Philippines everyday.

It seems to be cooler relatively since it’s still dry season though…the temperature will rise more in April and May.

I thought I got used to the life in Philippines already, but……I was stolen my phone by snatchers on the bus on Monday! I was kind of careless from being relaxed my mind at that time. Hmmm, I should be more careful!

　On Thursday, I and Jeric(ACCESS staff) went to Tondo district where are the slum area in Manila. The people living there moved from Smokey Mountain(huge garbage damping area)for escaping from harsh poisonous gas. It should have been the temporary residence area but people are still forced to live there because of poverty.

　　　There were a lot of small children playing around that area and I became veryworried about their sanitary conditions. The ground was full of garbage and leftover which came from other places and there were many muddy paths. Apparently, the environment would be worse when the rainy season comes. I could talk with some of the members of youth group which is supported by ACESS. In their story, there was about “Tokuhan”, the drug extermination policy proceeded under Dterte administration. They told us that the police often come to the area and look for the drug users of any drug smuggling relatives in an aggressive way. One day, one of the police shot the door of the youth member’s house and the other day a bullet accidentally hit an innocent mother’s head and killed when she was cuddling her baby. There are those kind of tragedy having been happening in the area and the people in the weak position were humiliated by the police now.

 

初めまして。

はじめまして。現地インターンのSakuraです。

先週、マニラに来たばっかりで、日本との気温の違いにやっと体が慣れてきた感じです。

今は、語学学校の寮を借りて生活をしています。

生活のこと、業務のこと、日々感じたことなど、色々お伝えできればと思います。

まず、来て思ったのが・・・暑い！！今はまだ一年の中でも涼しい時期らしいですが、

日本の２月の寒さに体が慣れていたのでちょっと初めは慣れるのに時間がかかりました。

それでも、室内は扇風機、冷房があるところが多いのでそれほど辛くはないですが。

そして、自分の部屋に案内されてまず出迎えてくれたのが巨大なゴキブリ（Big.Gと呼んでいます）・・・。ああ、これからしばらくはBig.Gとの共同生活かぁ、と切ない気持ちになりました。

私が動いてればBig.Gは動きません。私が止まると彼は動き出します。うん、微妙な距離感。

それから、シャワーが水です。これは来る前から覚悟はしてましたが、やっぱり毎朝のシャワーは修行をしているかのよう。慣れてくれば気持ちがいいのかもですが・・・。もうちょっと時間がかかりそうです。

さて、先週末はマニラを少し巡ってみました。

電車、ジプニー（フィリピンでよく使われているジープ型の交通機関）を使ってアジア最大級のショッピングモール（といわれる）Mall of Asia に行ってきました。週末だったということもあり、ものすごい人の数でした！そして中も広い！映画やボウリングもあり、都市部の中間層、富裕層の週末の出かける場所という感じ。

すごいなぁ、と感心する一方で少し郊外へ行けばゴミ山で暮らす人々がいるんだよなぁ、という何とも言えない思いが浮かんでくる。日本でも貧困化が進んでいるというのを考えると先進国、途上国関係なく経済の偏りがグローバルに進んでるなぁ、という感じ。

その歪みを少しでも草の根から直していこうというのが私たちNGOの役割なのかもしれないと思いました。

Hello, I'm Sakura, a new intern from Japan.

I just came here last week and now I finaly am getting used to the difference of temperature in Japan and Philippines.

Now, I'm staying in a dormitory in Quezon city which is in Manila.

I'm going to write in this blog about the life , the job in NGO, and what I feel and think in Philippines.

The first thing I felt at first when I arrived in the airport was ......it's soooooo hot!!!!

Although they say that it's still in the coolest season in the year now, it took a while for my body to it. 

But It's not that hard being inside because there are fans and airconditioner everywhere.

And the one who welcomed me at my room in the dormitory was a huge cockroach(I call him Big G)..... Ok, it's gonna be a room share with this guy for a while, I thought and sighed.

When I move, he doesn't move, when he move, I don't move in turn. Yes, it's a kind of a delicate sence of distance.

Also, a shower with cold water. I knew it before I came here and kind of prepared for it mentaly. But it's like every morning trainings. It might be very comfortable if I get used to it.

Anyway, I went around Manila last weekend.

I went to MOA(Mall of Asia) which is the biggest shopping mall in Asia(they said) by using train and Jeepney（ a jeep which is common transportation in Philippines). There were so many people shopping and hanging around since it was weekend. Besides the area was huge and the mall includes entertaimant( bowling, cinemas etc.) area as well. It looks like a place where wealthy people living in city area visit on weekends.

On the one hand, I felt like it's so amazing and impressed by the latest and developped buildings, on the other hand I thought there are people forced to live in the garbage dump site just half an hour away by car and felt an unspeakable feeling.  Thinking the rate of poverty is rising also in Japan, there is no border anymore in in the world regarding econimic bias under the globalization.

One of the roles of our works in NGO might be making it correct that distortion in a way of grass-roots supporting.

インターン終了。みなさんに感謝。

現地インターンをしてます、Ririです。

私のインターンとしての活動が無事終了しました。

もっと都市貧困の問題にかかわりたかったな、というのが一番の思いです。

私ばかりがたくさん勉強させていもらいました。

インターンの活動は終了したのですが、まだペレースで個人的な問題が残っています。

これから一度他の東南アジアに1か月ほど出るのですが、

来月クリスマス前にまた戻ってくる予定です。

ペレース滞在…残り1週間

こんにちは！現地インターン　Ririです。

ペレースに滞在5か月…、この島を出るのもあと1週間と、お別れの日が迫ってきました。

いや～色々なことがありました。

こんなことも

あんなことも

はたまたこんなことも

そしてこういうときもありました。

残りの限られた日数を大事にしていきたいと思います。

ペレースでのお仕事で主要となっていたのが

1つの村を対象に行った経済・学業状況調査です。

インタビュー調査から始まり、結果集計、分析、報告書作成と

一応やり終えることができて安心しております。

今回調査を行った村はペレースの町の中心に位置し

事務所からも近く、家々が密集していることから

調査はしやすかったといえます。

村の様子はこのような感じ。
