Another great advantage of this drill is its size. This is a drill designed with the intention of getting into smaller places for easy drill operation. This makes it perfect for use around your home. While you could use this drill on a work site if you wanted to (after all, what else are you going to do with that nifty holster) this was clearly designed with the home in mind. It also has a nice LED light to help out.
All of this and it is still not “Perfect”
If there is anything particularly bad about this drill it would be the way the battery is loaded into the drill. It loads from the bottom similar to a pistol clip and that throws the weight balance off just a little bit. On top of that getting the battery out of the drill can require a little bit of patience because it tends to get stuck since you are feeding the battery into the drill instead of just sliding it onto the body. However, these are relatively minor gripes for a drill that more than delivers the goods in a relatively low price range.
Should You Get It?
Without a doubt. Makita is known for its superior durability and dependability and is well worth the investment from other lesser-priced models. What small amount you save by purchasing another less expensive model you more than make up for with the power in the Makita FD02W.
