『Saw Gunner』
The story behind that big gun, whoops, I mean, big automatic weapons system(the drills would have slaughtered me if they heard me call it that). The story behind how I obtained that monster is a very simple one. On the day we headed out for some field training, I was pulled to the side by the original Saw gunner in our squad. He simply told me that instead of drawing out my M16, I was to instead request MG21. Little did I know that he was entirely serious with passing off the labor of hauling the damn thing. But what could I say? He was of higher rank then myself and he was higher on the command chain.
So, I followed orders and paid little heed to the task at hand. All, I had realize was that this thing weighed a ton, compared to the feather weight M16. Not only that but as I looked around to my fellow Saw gunners I realized something. I was without a doubt, the smallest machine gunner out of the entire company. How is that possible?! I know I'm not the shortest or the lightest but c'mon! What's the odds that nearly every Saw gunner weighed more then 200 pounds or was above 6 feet? Close to non, I say. But I must suck it up and keep on driving through. Thats how most things gets done in the Army.
