When I listen to podcasts about Japanese Cool every podcaster says Pokemon and ‘Yugio’ together like a set of buzzword.

Of course I know Pokemon as a Japanese. But who is ‘Yugio’? Who? Who? I had NEVER known him or identified it until today.

Now I saw the following web link of this article in my time line of Twitter. Instantly I cried out “Wow! It’s ‘遊戯王’(Yuu-Gi-Ou)!!!”

Actually the pronunciation of “Yugio” in podcasts, ‘YuGiO’ makes no sense to Japanese because the official pronunciation of “遊戯王” is “Yuu-Gi-Ou.” Or you can also pronounce it “You-Gi-Oh” or “Yoo-Gi-Oh” as its unofficial pronunciation.
