6年前の今日、プラハでウィーンフィルのコンサートに行った。そろそろ緊急事態宣言が解除される見通しで、コンサートや美術展も解禁となるだろう。プラハにいたころはよくコンサートにも行っていたが、今やそういう機会も少なくなった。コロナ明けには美術館、コンサート通いしたいっ！！
【2014年5月23日】
昨日ウィーンフィル＋ランランのコンサートに行ってきました。今年のプラハの春音楽祭のハイライトと言ってもいいでしょう。ピュア素人の私が厚かましさを承知で言えば、エッシェンバッハの指揮は情熱的でありながら典雅。それにこたえるオーケストラはまさに重厚にして優美。できればドヴォジャークホールでやってもらえばもっとよかったのですが、それでも今まで聞いたどのオーケストラよりも感銘を受けました。一方ランランの演奏は、よくも悪くも予想通りでした。演奏の切れ目に手が宙を舞うのはいつもの通り。視線が中空をさまようのも、あぁやってるなという感じで、歌舞伎役者が見得を切っている風情でありました。ただ、昨日はオーケストラに負けているという気がしないでもない。たまたま隣に座ったチェコ人の女性と少し話をしたのですが、彼女も「彼はロックスターだ。（アーティストではなく）パフォーマーで、サウンドが私の魂には届かない」と言っていました。芸術といえどもエンタテイメントですから、フィギアスケートや体操の選手と同様、パフォーマンスのアピールという視点からは意味のないことではないでしょう。ただ、あまりおおげさだと、中村紘子あたりがボロクソにけなしているように、好みの分かれるところでしょう。ま、今やピアノを弾かないピアニストの中村センセに言われてもなぁ、というのはあるかもしれません。ランラン、ウィーンフィルともにアンコールを2回繰り返すという大サービスでした。ランランもソロの方が映える気がします。一時はかなり太っていたという記憶があるのですが、昨日はステージに登場した姿はすらりとしていて、さすが元イケメンピアニストの面目躍如でありました。8時過ぎに始まって終わったのは10時半を過ぎていたでしょうか。家に着いたのは11時半近く。大満足の夜でした。
Last evening, I went to the concert performed by Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Lang Lang, which, I suppose, is the highlight of this year’s Prague Spring International Music Festival. Even though I am a pure amateur, I had some impression from their performance. The conductor, Christoph Eschenbach was enthusiastic and noble, while the orchestra was dignified but graceful. It could have been more marvelous if it was performed in Dvorak hall, but this was the most outstanding concert which I ever experienced. Lang Lang’s play was not much different from the one I expected in anyway. He quite often puts his arms in the air as usual and his eyes as well. His facial expression was just like Kabuki-play. However, yesterday, Vienna Phil seemed to have overwhelming power to beat him. I talked time to time with a young Czech lady sitting next to me and she also mentioned that he was a rock-star and that he was rather a performer and his sound did not reach to her soul. Even music is an entertainment, then it is assumed that grandstand plays have significant meaning when appealing his or her performance as in figure-skating or gymnastics. But if too much, some people would like to avoid them. A famous Japanese pianist, Hiroko Nakamura hates that style and puts it down in her review but she is now rather a critic not a pianist any more, so, they don’t care, I guess. Both Lang Lang and Vienna Phil responded twice for encore request from audience. Lan Lang’s first encore play was “Valse du Petit Chien” by Chopin and he looks nicer in his solo-performance than in concerto. He once got weight I remember, but he looked pretty cool yesterday and proved himself as a good looking pianist. Vienna Phil ‘s first encore was An der schönen blauen Donau. The audience as well as myself really enjoyed Wien’s air by their fantastic plays. The concert staｒted after eight and ended before eleven. I returned home around eleven thirty, fully satisfied.
