直島福武美術財団の理事長である福武さんが受賞しました

今ではstrong global fanbaseを持つ瀬戸内海の「BENESSE ART SITE」、

発起人はall through the visions of this man, 福武さん

-"i became convinced that conteomporary art could make a diifference: it would be possible to effect change by placing art that takes a healthy, critical view of contemporary society in original japanese landscapes UNTAINTED by modernization. to encourage young people to come and see contemporary art on Naoshima, it is important to offer them positive experiences that are not ordinarily available in the city"

The world he created juxtaposes almost 2 extremes:

contemporary art/modernism vs natural environment/heritage.

and thus, this MIX proposes a completely new experience-

a true revolutionary concept
