シェイクスピアの公演は、
お陰様でお客様の笑い声に包まれて
好評のうち終わり、
次の幕末の武士たちの舞台の稽古が始まりました。
Our Shakespeare performance ended with much approving laughter from the audience, and already I have begun rehearsing for my next performance of samurai warriors from late Edo.
一旦アウトプットし尽くした今、
少し新しい刺激をインプットし、
自分の視野を拡げる機会を
設けるようにしています。
Having concentrated so acutely on one performance, I'm now welcoming myself to new stimulants to broaden my mindset once again.
すると、自分の知らないところで、
色んな人がそれぞれの人生を
命懸けで生きているのに気付かされます。
Then I notice how there are so many people everywhere, also risking their lives to pursue something that may never be rewarding.
単純に比較は出来ませんが、
自分も自分の選んだことを
同じくらい命懸けでやっているか、
自分に問わずにはいられません。
It is no simple comparison, but I cannot help asking myself whether I am risking as much of my mind and soul in the path that I have chosen.
近日観に行った友人の公演では、
友人はやはり他の追随を許さない輝きを放っていましたが、それ以外の出演者一人一人も、それぞれ自分の存在をかけてそこで輝いていました。
In the performance I went to see recently, my friend was by far the most outstandingly attractive performer, but each of the other performers were also living their moment with all their might.
そしてその場に集い、
その公演に向き合うお客さんも、
それぞれが時間とお金を割いて
その場に積極的に存在していて、
それが素晴らしいエネルギーの渦を
生み出していました。
And the audience also, having actively chosen to spend their time and money to exist there in that moment out of trillions of places elsewhere, had been playing a big role in giving life to the performance.
この胸の内側でジンジンと昂ぶる
あの場のエネルギーを忘れずに、
自分の現場に、
自分の存在をかけて
向き合っていかなければと、
改めてそう強く覚悟しました。
I felt a grave responsibility to put every drop of my soul into my chosen path to recreate that moment of concentration where people can feel the innermost core of their existence within them.
今日からほぼ全日、
稽古になります。
Rehearsals will be on almost everyday from today.
変革期の日本で、自分が信じる道を
貫き通して時代を作ろうとする歴史上の人物、久坂玄瑞を演じさせていただきます。
I will play a historical character, Genzui Kusaka, who believes in his ideal future of Japan, and risks his life to realize his ideals.
