*The hundreds of tons of radioactive water
now streaming daily into the Pacific Ocean off the Japanese coast. Four
nuclear reactors were damaged by the 2011 tsunami and earthquake:
日本の沿岸部から何百トンもの汚染水が太平洋に流れ出ている。 2011年の津波と地震によって原子炉4基が被害を受けた。
three reactors have not been repaired at all due to the high radiation and the
fourth reactor contains ten times the radioactivity greater than what
Chernobyl released.

If one of the reactors collapses, it will cause a
global catastrophe, and the radioactive fallout will damage the global
environmental system and disrupt the food chain in North America.
原子炉一つでも崩壊してしまうと、これは世界の破滅を意味し、世界の環境システムを破壊し北米産の食物さえも食べられなくなるだろう。
Medicalexperts expect to see more than one million Japanese casualties over the
next 25 years, mostly with children. It is clear that the Tokyo Electric
Power Company (TEPCO) cannot resolve this issue alone.
専門医によると、向こう25年間で100万人以上の健康被害者が出るだろうと予測されており、子供たちが一番危険にさらされているとのこと。 東京電力だけではこの問題にもはや立ち向かえないのは明白である。
Japan needsimmediate international technical support from an experienced and capable
firm. The best option in this matter is the Bechtel Corporation.

ここまでですが、電話ではベッチェルも米政府からの要請がない限りリスクが高すぎて動かないだろうとおっしゃっていました。
米政府が要請するには、日本政府からの要請も無ければならないのですが、そもそも日本政府は米政府の支援を4度断っていますね。
なぜなのか？
復興予算で大量につぎ込まれる放射性物質の除染費用などなど。 これが長期的に続けば・・・。
儲かる会社、儲かる人々、たくさんいますね。
全て国民の血税であり、そして大事な子供たちの未来が犠牲にされてはいるのですが。
