【あとがき】
"Where I've been"ですが、和訳するのが難しい表現です。
この歌は黒人差別撤廃のためメイベルを筆頭に黒人住民たちがデモに参加してるシーンで歌われているので、自分の置かれている境遇、宿命、そしてそれを変えるための闘いや使命をこのひと言にすべて凝縮しているのだと思います。
これを端的に言い換えれば「これが自分の居場所」になりますが、これだと歌詞の流れにそぐわないので、「これが私の生きる意味」とか「生きる道」「生き様」など、意味を変えない程度に言い換えができればオッケーかなと思いました。
