この曲は2バージョンあるようで、最近2つ目のほうがリリースされたようです。
"a face in the crowd"はひとことで言えば「モブ」。直訳は「群衆の中の1つの顔」ですから、個性もへったくれもない地味で特徴がないことを指します。拙訳では「取り残された気分」つまり「群衆の中に置いてきぼりを食らったつまんない人」というニュアンスにしました。
"message in a bottle"ですが、どんな日本語がしっかり来ますか？ とある検索エンジンでは「メッセージボトルメール」とちう単語がヒット数が多かったので、一応は知名度はあるようですが。
