Winter Wonderland - Cancelled

We have written this press release a 100 times and there is no easy way to break the news to our faithful clubbers but we are very sorry to announce that Magna on Boxing Day will not be going ahead.

Sadly all avenues have been exhausted. Our point of contact left Magna in October and the new chair of the trustees of the board at Magna has decided that Insomniacz will pay for the financial failings of Magna and the staff in previous years gone by. (Or so she thinks). There has been many a sleepless night working through all the scenarios of moving the event to another venue etc… but due to how close we are to Boxing Day the only real viable option is to cancel.

This show was confirmed by Magna staff on email in August 2012. Since that date the rental agreement paid by Insomniacz to Magna has seen proposed increases of £5000 + VAT in October, £20,000 plus VAT in October & the last figure sent via email on Thursday 13th December would be £40,000 + VAT for the venue. Stating this had to be paid upfront on Monday 17th December.

This is an extract from the latest email:

“Magna Science Adventure Centres Costs for the event will be in the order of £40,000.00 for which you would be invoiced £40,000.00+ VAT. This rate would include room hire, coverage of all costs and a £1000 bond to cover the cost of any damage to our site”.

We can’t make this stack up financially especially in the current climate.

There will be a case at the county court in the New Year so we can’t disclose everything on here as it may Prejudice our claim against Magna.

As you are reading this you will realise we have already refunded your tickets. If you have paid for accommodation or travel to the venue and you cannot get this refunded please contact us on events_@insomniacz.com with confirmation from the companies refusing refund. This will be added to the claim against Magna in the New Year.

Again we are very sorry about this, we are absolutely devastated ourselves.
