Naadam

In the middle of July, there was a national event (the biggest event of the year in Mongolia) Naadam.

Mongolian celebrated this occasion around the Mongolia.

They do parade in the morning and also do some competitions through out the day. They play horse race, in which only children take part because adults are too heavy for horses to run 15-20 km.

There are archery competition and the most well-known competition- Mongol Sumo Wrestling competition.

There was a small game that I learned on this occasion.

Bone game in which sheep ankle or tigh bones are used and they do some game with them.

Mongol Sumo Wrestling competition was held at a big stadium.

Stage presenter Yuhki

After the cavalry show, we always have stage performance, songs, dance, music and also some games.

We have had arrow shooting, arm wrestling and hoomie singing.

When we have games, I go up on stage with the other two guys and become an interpreter.

It's fun to be on stage.

airag

This is my first ger house that I went to.

Ages ago when we were on our way home from the event field, we told our driver Tsegee that we wanted to buy Airag (mare's milk).

Then he drove us to his uncle's house.

There we had very nice Airag and bought some.

Inside house was nice with carpet on the wall.

Surprised to find TV.

The house seemed to be modernised.

Airag was in this vase.

After getting milk from mare, it is put in this bag. I dont know what the bag is made of. Maybe sheep or horse.
