Pardun eager to complete coaching transition at Hersey

New Hersey football coach Joe Pardun knows all about transitioning. When he was a high school football player at Fremd in the mid 1990 Pardun was a member of a Viking football team that went from Joe Samojedny to Mike Donatucci. Then at Hersey, where he was the defensive coordinator for nine years, he worked under Mike Mullaney, then Mark Gunther and most recently Dragan Teonic. Last Monday night, it was Pardun turn to transition after being named head coach of the Huskies.

Dundee Crown names Steinhaus new football coach

Dundee Crown has picked one of its all time great athletes to lead the football program. Mike Steinhaus, a 2003 graduate and a 2013 inductee to the school athletic hall of fame, has been named head coach, the school announced Tuesday.

McNulty to lead Warren football program

Warren has named Bryan McNulty its new head football coach, athletic director Mark Pos confirmed Tuesday night. McNulty replaces Dave Mohapp, who stepped down in December after 17 seasons. McNulty is a former all state linebacker at Naperville Central High School who spent the past two years as defensive backs coach at Lake Forest College. Prior to that, he served as an assistant on Mohapp staff, serving as the head sophomore coach and working with the defense for both the varsity and sophomore teams.

The almost 10 hour car ride to far northwest Minnesota didn't scare off Tyler Lazarz. "I'm used to driving long distances to go Duane Brown Navy Jersey up north," Lazarz said. IHSA could limit some football practice tackling

As high school football players and other fans across Illinois get set to watch the Super Bowl, one suburban lawmaker is working with the Illinois High School Association to ban full speed tackling during summer practices. IHSA Executive Director Marty Hickman is drafting a proposal with state Rep. Carol Sente, a Vernon Hills Democrat, that would reduce contact in practice during the weeks leading up to the regular high school season.
