After completing a 6-year shoe deal with Adidas, Kobe signed a big contract with Nike just days before his Colorado legal troubles went public. As a result, Nike held off for awhile on a signature shoe, and in the meantime, Kobe was usually seen wearing the shoes of the legend that he was frequently accused of trying to imitate. Opinions differ on that debate, but who could blame him for wanting to rock some Air Jordans. As you’ll see after the jump, Kobe sported a bunch of different Air Jordans, mostly during the 2003-2004 season. Some versions are OG colorways, but many have been personalized with Lakers color schemes.
In addition to the Jordans, Kobe can also be seen wearing some Air Force 1′s, two different pairs of Allen Iverson’s signature Reebok Answer kicks and cheap nike free run 2 the white/purple/gold Nike Weapons that Magic Johnson made legendary during the Showtime Laker days. We’re not positive on the time frame for some of these photos, but it’s safe to assume that most are from the period between leaving Adidas and when his first signature Nike model was introduced. Parra is all over the place for this second half of 2009. The Dutch illustrator lent his signature style to a pack of Vans that’s available now and his upcoming collaboration on the Nike Air Maxim 1 is breathtaking. Now comes word that dude designed a third iconic sneaker, and you have about zero chance of copping these. To celebrate a BBQ event they threw in the Mitte section of Berlin today, Nike commissioned Parra to scrawl a sketch on the Air Max All Star. Ever irreverent, Parra made these ‘the wurst’ Chucks ever by writing ‘Simply the Wurst’ in red atop a blue sausage on the outer side panels. There are only 100 pairs of these and they all went to friends and family attending the party, so click the jump and salivate over these super-limited kicks. via HB
