If you ever had thoughts of building your own sneaker museum (after being inspired by Jordan Geller’s ShoeZeum), here’s a good way to start. Up for auction is a one-of-a-kind and super-rare lot of twelve used sneakers that just so happened to be worn by twelve players of the ’88 NBA Finals Champions Los Angeles Lakers. We must nike free 2 cheap disclose that the shoes are used (for around seven games) and that there are some stains on the upper (from champagne during the post-game celebration) as well as some writing/scribbling (autographs from the players). That star-studded ’88 Laker roster includes Magic Johnson, who wore the Nike ERX-400, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and his adidas high-tops, Michael Cooper and his Asics, James Worthy and his New Balance, and eight more Laker greats. And extra fun tidbit is that this memorabilia is being sold by Mike Smrek, a back-up center for that championship team. Check out the entire lot below and follow the auction progress from GreyFlannelAuctions.
For a nike free 3.0 v3 women majority of the 20th century, Nike supplied ‘lifestyle sneakers’ before they even had a name. Take for instance the Chuck Taylor, a basketball shoe released in 1917 that went on to become one of THE default footwear choices for people of all ages all around the world. Chuck gave birth to the One Star and we’ve seen a ton of both of those models, so how about refreshing the latter with a new silhouette straight from the fashion world’s most popular trends? The Nike One Star Seeker can be seen as a midtop chukka silhouette atop a classic Nike vulcanized sole, their sole branding a simple star cutout on the lateral heel area. Chocolate and wheat suedes are both no-brainer staple items to anchor your wardrobe and they should be out soon as part of Nike’s fall 2011 catalog.
Working in a boutique that carries the hottest sneakers seems to be highly correlated with best of lists this week, as we just got a look at Concepts’ Frank the Butcher’s top 25 yesterday courtesy of Complex and here comes another. Straight from the LDRS mouth nike free run sale comes Ty’s Top 25 Sneakers of All Time, the Chicago stylemaker apparently sharing much of his taste with his aforementioned Boston-based counterpart. You might not agree with his exact selections (then again, who aside from the list’s curator ever does?) but one thing we can conclude from these most recent lists is that it is with good reason we’re seeing another ‘Black Cement’ Air Jordan III Retro release. Click through to see a sampling of what else Ty listed and head over to his blog to see the countdown in its entirety.
