The last time we heard from the UNDFTD x Nike team-up, it was for the all white collection from their Ballistic Pack. Depending on your post-Labor day rotation those may or may not be a no-no, so here’s a heads up on the blacked out version set Nike Free Run 3.0 V3 to drop next week. Grabbing the Nike Academy Low and the Nike Star Player once again, UNDFTD works their magic on these Nike Air Max Mens unassuming models, giving them a tech-feel thanks to the ballistic upgrades. Nike has had a string of high profile collabos of late that have ambitiously flipped the traditional look of the All-Star staples. The Gorillaz and Kicks/HI team ups both went down the camo route, and the recent Medicom Air Max Purcells took that sneaker to fuzzy new heights. Well it turns out Nike is capable of the upgrade without any outside help as we see here on the Nike Chuck Taylor Free Run ‘Bosey’, which gets rawhide laces and an authentic distressed leather for a very Air Max 87 Womens smart look. The rubberized toe cap is a bit beefed up as well, making them a good choice for the winter months. Nike Sportswear wasn’t using the name for any currently active releases, so why not share it with another of Nike, Inc’s brands? The latest Nike by John Varvatos release is the same as the last one, a new pair of Nike Star Classics that manage to stray from Varvatos’ formula for the pre-blackened vintage look. Combining Antique White tumbled leather with tan and navy blue suedes absolutely does the trick in terms of getting that old school look, though, and these certainly give the other two pairs we showed you last week a run for their money.
