Harris Tweed, having collaborated with several of the world’s top footwear brands, turns its attention now to the oldest major label out there, offering its woolen weaves to one of the most iconic sneaker designs in history. About a year after Bape’s Ape Sta utilized some of the same materials, this Harris Tweed x Nike Free Run All Star shows us what the original looks like in a heathered herringbone. Nike has been presenting ‘Gigs’ at London’s legendary 100 Club all year, and now the site of the first international punk rock Air Max 2012 Men Shoes festival makes up for lost time with not one but four new collaborative releases. The 100 Club x Nike Free Run All Star adds the club’s stencil-ish logo in tonal prints of varying sizes to white and black designs in both high and lowtop silhouettes. We’re reminded of the countless Air Max 87 Womens punk (and its offspring genres) artists rocking Chucks over the years and these do a good job of keeping things timeless while still saluting the guest stars, and they’re available now straight from Nike.
The British Millerain Company sat on the sidelines during the recent explosion in sneaker collaborations, going silent for nearly four years after a couple of Nike Terminator teamups. They’re making up for lost time now with two new drops in two months, as a trio of Nike Jack Purcell lowtops follow a recent Puma Stepper drop. These are roughly the opposite of those Pumas, opting for plaid uppers with just enough leather for the piping, and offering more variety via three different earthy weaves.
