And thanks to a final ‘Fix It’ yesterday, his former possessions became prized mementoes for hundreds of his fans.
Jimmy died two days short of his 85th birthday last October and Christian Louboutin Pas Cher his final wish was for his possessions to be sold in aid of his charitable trust. The sale was expected to raise around ￡250,000, but it quickly became clear last night that the total would be much more.
The 2002 Rolls-Royce which has the number plate JS 247 (Radio 1’s original frequency was 247 medium wave) went for ￡130,000. Bought by an internet bidder, the car, which Jimmy called The Beast, fetched more than twice its estimated value.
A three-wheel BMW bubble car went for ￡22,000, snapped up by Angela Swift, the managing ray ban sunglasses sale director of a care home company.
It will be parked inside a residential home in Rotherham.
‘Many of the residents have dementia so this will hopefully provide them with some nostalgic memories,’ said Mrs Swift, who also bought a gold Nike tracksuit for ￡350.
Stuart Louboutin Pas Cher Levin had worked with Sir Jimmy and was happy to pay ￡550 for another tracksuit. He expects to make ‘four times’ that amount when he auctions it for the Make a Dream foundation. During the day around 300 people packed the sale room at the Royal Armouries complex in Leeds to bid for the 549 lots.
