アルバム『TABOO』は、このアヴァンギャルドな「ICONOCLASM」で幕を開ける。
いかにもアルバムの内容を示唆するような“偶像破壊”の賛美歌で、
シンプルなリフレインがもう耳から離れなくなってしまう。
アルバムのイントロSE的な役割と同時に、
当時のBUCK-TICKが目論んだ“破壊”と“誕生”がここにある。
映像は完全な市販ライヴ・フィルムとしては最古の作品「SABBAT」より。
イメージ映像とライヴ映像がシンクロして雰囲気を際立たせる手法が取り入れられる
同映像集は、当時のファン必修のアイテムであった。
今井＆櫻井のバンドのフロントマンが、
トレード・マークであった逆毛を下ろし、
街を練り歩く姿は、過去のアイドル的なバンドの姿を葬り去る儀式のようだ。
