I have read parts 1 and 2 of the Knightfall series. In preparation for the film, I've been reading Batman's 'Knightfall' series, which features a major feud between Bane and Batman, including a certain infamous back-breaking scene. Bane released all of the villians from Arkham Assylum, using them to wear out the Dark Knight. Well this is the comic in which Bane gets introduced to Batman and breaks his back. Nolan has also given plenty of indication that The Dark Knight Rises brings the story full circle, and who better than the seminal man who broke the bat to feature in his grand finale: Bane. A master of “Knightfall” is the first part of an epic that refocuses Bruce Wayne as Batman. This riveting book sets Batman on a path that will change his life forever. There is a lot more in “Knightfall” that makes it one of the better stories in DC's Batman canon, and I'm only touching on the bare plot points here because any fan of Batman should read it.
