John Bowlby's attachment theory is based off of the fact that people are born biologically programmed to attach with others, in order to survive. Attachment theory isn't new, and its research is robust. Rather, Bowlby's “attachment theory” illuminates the basic requirements for healthy human interaction, and it has influenced almost every field related to the development of the mind for more than half a century. Attachment theory in psychology originates with the seminal work of John Bowlby (1958).
