I went to an English cafe on Sunday.
I talked with many people in English.
We discussed about various things in a free theme.
I felt it was difficult, to talk in English with a free theme than to
speak English at work.
Because in my work, I often use a specific English phrases,
but the free themes are full of words that I don't know.
So I want to put more words and idioms into my mind.
I need the skills to express in simple words that I know.
I think imaginative is the key, to enjoy English conversation.
For example, we can use the word "small " for "narrow ".
In addition, we can use the word "hard to move" and "difficult to move" for "cramped".
I want to be able to express many things in a simple word.

以前から行きたかった英会話カフェに行ってきました♪
やっぱりフリートークは仕事上での英会話とは、またちょっと違いますね。
ブログは単語を調べて文章を熟考して書いていますが、会話となればテンポが大事です。
ディスカッションでは、みんな言いたい単語がスッと出てこず、日本語まじりで
○○ってこの単語で良かったっけ？なんて相談しながら話してました(笑)！
ついつい日本語をそのまま英単語に訳しがちですが、そうではないんですね。
例えば、狭いって？ Smallで良いし、不機嫌だって「no happy」で良いし
「窮屈な」は「cramped」なんて知らなくても、「hard to move」とか「difficult to move」
とか、そういう簡単な単語でいくらだって伝わるんですよね。
いかに知っている単語を使い回せるか、応用する力も英会話を楽しむコツですね。
各々の単語が持っている意味を真に理解すれば、多くの表現に使えますよね。
辞書を見ると、一つの単語には多くの意味があるし、単語自身が背景を持っています。
とは言え、それを踏まえた上で、もっと単語とイディオムを覚えたいと思いました。
やっぱり世界が広がりますから。
あと、やっぱり会話って質問力も必要だわ！！
本当に会話って、リズムのあるキャッチボールだと思いました。

ふだん日本語で話してると、そんなこと当たり前すぎて気にもしないのにね(笑)☆

How have you been？！ I didn't write a blog, but I was reading your blog all the time.
I think that writing sentences in English is effective for studying English mechanism.

英語の勉強をしていて楽しいのは、英語が聞き取れるようになることや、話したことが
きちんと海外の人に通じた時ですよね。
そして今、私は英語と日本語の根本的な違いを知ることが楽しいです。
日本語を直訳しがちですが、そもそも英語と日本語の成り立ちというか
構成や発想じたいが違うので、そこを理解していないから日本人はTOEIC９００点でも
英語でスムーズに会話が出来る人が少ないんだ、って、よく聞きました。
そうそう、私はテレビ大阪（関東ならテレビ東京か？）の「Youは何しに日本へ？」
という番組と、同局の「世界！ニッポンへ行きたい人応援団～ようこそニッポンへ」という
番組が大好きです。 なぜなら海外の人が話す英語を日本語吹き替えにせず、
そのまま英語で放送してくれるからです。 日本語字幕も出ているので「なるほど！
こう話すのか！」と、とても勉強になります。
海外の人の生の発音も聞けますし、言葉の発想も知ることが出来て楽しいです。
あと、会話には、やっぱりリンキングの慣れですね。 文章と違って。
私のような英会話初心者にとって、やっぱりココが鍵だと思います。
単語そのものの発音もですが、これに慣れてきたら、かなり英語を聞き取れるように
なりましたし、これを意識して話したら格段に通じるようになりました。
周りの人が聞いていても恥ずかしがらずに、ノリノリで発音する事が大切ですね(笑)！

本気で英語の勉強をして疲れたら、チェコ語の勉強や、子供用の英語ビデオで楽しんでいます。
私の英語力はこの程度です。 ビジネスではいい加減な英語はダメですが、それでも最も伝えたい
単語が伝われば、けっこう会話になります。
（とは言え、仕事ではフォーマルな英会話をしたいので、今こうして学んでいます。）
ＪＡＬホテルを辞めてから、あるメーカーに勤務しました。 その時も海外から電話があって、
私は当然まともな文法で話せませんでしたが、何とかなりました(笑)。
英語圏の方の英語は聞き取りやすく、私でも分かるのですが（と言うか先方が私のレベルに合わせて
下さってたので）、韓国の方の英語が一番聞き取れなかった。 韓国なまりが激しくて。
でも堂々とハキハキ話されるので、私も堂々と（？！）日本語なまりの英語で話しました(笑)！
お互いに英語力が低いのが分かってるので、笑いながらの会話でけっこう楽しかったです♪♪
英語圏の国の方はもちろん、中国の方も綺麗な英語で、TOEICのCDを聞いてる気分になりました。
どの国の方もフレンドリーで優しかったです。 頑張って英語をガンガン話せるようになろうっと♪♪

【今日の勉強メモ】
私チェコ語も勉強することにしました。 チェコ（特にプラハ）が大好きで、ずっと行きたかったんです。
本当に行くことになったので、チェコ語も話したい！！ でも英語で通じるらしいです(笑)！
英語は仕事で必要なので勉強していますが、私が好きな国はチェコ、スロバキア、オーストリア、
ポーランド、ハンガリー、スイス、オランダ、あの辺りの国なんです。（英語圏じゃない国ばかり・・・笑)
もう本当に存在が芸術そのものです。 美しいっ！！ 美しすぎる！！
チェコのプラハは「おとぎの国」とか「絵本のような国」と言われていて、その美しさに感動します。
私はガラス細工、クラシック音楽、美術芸術、演劇が大好きだから、もう本当に夢の国。
私はキリスト教ではないですが、海外の大聖堂は美術作品として大好きで、YouTubeで
ヨーロッパ各国の大聖堂を見たり、鐘の音を聴いたりしています。
大聖堂もそうですが、建築物そのものが美しい作品です。
街並みや建物から、歴史と文化と、人々の美の感性を感じます。
英語の勉強を続けながら、その息抜きでチェコ語を勉強します。 うはー！！ 楽しみー
It was raining recently because of the typhoon, but it was sunny today.

ここ数日、色んな人のブログを見ていて思うことがありました。
本気で英語の勉強をしてる人って、本当にめちゃめちゃ勉強してるんだってこと。
私から見てすごくレベルの高い人が、もがきながら勉強されてるんですよね。
それを見てると、私まだ本気度が足りないなと感じました。
最初は「楽しんで勉強しよう！」と、英作文の練習用にブログを始めましたが、
もっと本気で勉強に取り組もう、とメラメラと燃えてきました。
それから・・・。 まず、「今やるべきこと」を頑張ります。

昨日リスニングの練習に良いなと思う動画を見つけました。 アプリもあるので５～１０分くらいの
隙間時間にちょうど良いし、３分くらいの動画が多いので飽きずに楽しめる。 しかも無料っ！！
日英どちらの字幕も出るので、私のようなリスニング、スピーキングの初心者には良い動画です。

【今日の勉強メモ】
「練習」というと「Practice」だと思ってたけど、ネイティブの方とお話すると「Training」や
「Exercise」とおっしゃいます。
なので、これからは「練習」と言いたい時は、「Training」や「Exercise」にしようと思います。
あと、もっとリスニングの時間と話す時間を増やそうと思いました。

ところで、どの国の言葉もそうだと思いますが、似た意味の単語って本当にたくさんありますね。
自分の伝えたいニュアンスは、どの単語、もしくは言い回しを使えば良いのか毎回なやみます。
今日は「調べる」の単語について迷いました。
「examining、 check、 investigate、 look up、 explore、 find、 etc・・・。」
きっと、それぞれ用途が違うだろうから、ネイティブの方にも伝わり方が違うでしょうね。
「頭に入れる」と言うのも「put～into one's mind」や「keep that in mind」や
「shove it in head」など、頭という単語を直接もってくる言い回しもあるんですね。
