アンカレッジ空港に着くと、アラスカ州の「地上の哺乳類」である大きなmoose（大鹿）の剥製が歓迎してくれました。
自然豊かなアラスカ州は、州を代表する生き物が複数あって、魚の場合はキング・サーモンです。一昨日のブログで、夕食に食べたことを書きました。
When we arrived at the Anchorage Airport, a large stuffed Bull Moose, the state land mammal, greeted us. Alaska is rich in wildlife, so there are several state animals. The state fish is the King Salmon, which I reported here two days ago that I had for dinner.

剥製だけでなく、息子の家族も私たちを出迎えてくれました。ちらっとしか見えませんが、生後２ヶ月の孫娘が映っています。
My son’s family was also waiting to greet us. You can’t see her very well, but our two-month-old granddaughter is in the picture.
普段、息子は髭を伸ばしていませんが、電気カミソリが壊れたのでしばらく髭を伸ばしていました。息子の仕事は、地理情報システム（ＧＩＳ）、立体解析、地図作成のためのソフトウェア開発及び運用やサポート業務で、主に石油資源に関連しています。
Usually my son doesn’t have a beard, but his shaver broke, so he had been growing his beard out for a while. My son works at a company which develops and supports software for geographic information systems, spatial analysis, and cartography, largely related to petroleum resources.

ただ、暖冬と豪雨のため、残念ながら最大の注目イベントだった「２５マイル犬ぞりレース」が、コース不良のため中止になりました。がっかりです！
Unfortunately, due to the warm weather and heavy rain, the cornerstone event, the 25-mile sled dog races, has been cancelled because the trail conditions are too rough to be able to conduct the races. I am really disappointed.
