成田のとある駐車場のトイレに、こんな表示がありました。
I found this sign in the toilet at a parking lot in Narita. It reads: “To male customers, please sit down to urinate.”
これはつまり、「男性のお客様は、このトイレを汚さないために、汚い便座に座ってから用を足してください。」（男性の見方）
As I see it, this means, “To all men: Sit on this dirty toilet so you don’t get our bathroom dirty.” (male view)
あるいは、これはつまり、「女性のお客様は、この便座を男性の汚いお尻と共同使用しなければなりません。」（女性の見方）
Or else it means, “Women will be obliged to share this toilet seat with the dirty buttocks of men.” (female view)
男性用小便器の設置をお勧めします。
May I suggest the installation of a urinal?
ちなみに万が一、このような表示がアメリカのトイレの中に現れたら、この表示自体に速攻でおしっこをかけられる確率がかなり高いです。アメリカ人は不条理な決め事が大嫌いな国民だからです。
Incidentally, if this kind of sign were to appear in a bathroom in the U.S., there is a fairly high probability that someone would urinate on the sign itself within a very short time. Americans deeply dislike absurd rules.
