日本で栽培されるマンゴーは、主に「アップルマンゴー」です。マンゴーは世界中の熱帯気候地域で栽培されます。アメリカの場合、主に11種類が販売されていて、大半はメキシコ、エクアドル、ペルー、ブラジル、グアテマラ、そして特にハイチから輸入されます。それぞれの収穫のタイミングが違うので、ほぼ一年中マンゴーが手に入ります。
Most of the Mangos grown in Japan are “Apple Mango,” which should not be confused with Mangos of the same name produced in the Philippines. Mangos are grown in tropical climates all over the world. The mangos sold in the U.S. come mostly from Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Guatemala and Haiti. Fortunately, these countries harvest their mango crops at different times of the year, which means we can enjoy mangos all year round.
