お気付きだと思いますが、このリンクを自分でも

You will note in the left sidebar a link to Amazon for my latest book "Fushicho no Kuni Nippon" ("Japan, Country of the Phoenix") (published by Nisshin Hodo). I was very surprised about what happened when I clicked on the link.
アマゾンには「この本の中身を閲覧する」という機能が
あるので、これをクリックしてみたところ、目次は
もちろん、全216ページのこの本の、何と62ページまで
ここで読めてしまいました！
三割近く読めるんですね。今まで知らなかったので
ビックリです！
Amazon has a function called "view the contents of this book" where you can view the table of contents and the first 62 pages of this 216 page book!
That means you can see almost one-third of the book without buying it. I didn't know about this, so it caught me off guard.
まあ、本屋さんに行けば全部立ち読みすることも
可能ですけどね！(笑)
Of course, you can read the whole thing if you go to a bookstore and don't mind standing for a long time.
実はこの最新刊、表紙に「いくら何でもそれは
若すぎでしょ！」と言いたくなるほど昔の写真が使われて
います。この本の出来上がりを初めて見たときも相当
ビックリしました！ 最新刊に見えないよっ！(泣)
To be quite frank, the picture of me used on the cover of this book is, by anyone's standards, much too young. When I saw the first copy of the book, I was completely surprised. It doesn't look like my "latest" book with that picture.
どの写真を使うのか、ちゃんと事前に相談してくれ～！

I wish the publisher would have consulted me about which picture to use. I wonder where they found this picture. It looks younger than my son!
写真が恥ずかし過ぎるから今まで積極的に宣伝
しなかったのですが(笑)実は、前半の対談部分と
比べると、後半部分に力を入れて書いたので、
できれば後半部分を読んで欲しいのです。
Partly because of the picture, I haven't heavily promoted the book so far, but I think the second half of the book is the most interesting. That's the part I especially hope everyone will read.
このブログの読者の皆さんには、本の後半部分から、
私が「面白く書けたかな？」と個人的に気に入っている
ところを少しずつご紹介したいと考えています。
From time to time I will quote and discuss in this blog some passages which I find especially interesting from the second half of the book.
