◆「担当者のこと」

この英語表現の問題点は、２つあります。
まず「担当者」や、「係」は、the person in charge, the right person などと表現します。
I'm not in charge of that matter.
（私は、その件の担当ではありません）
I'm not familiar with that matter.
（その件に関してはよく存じておりませんので）
Who's in charge?
（だれが担当者ですか？）
つぎに、staff という言葉は、その職場で働く職員全体を意味し、“職場の一人一人”とか“あるプロジェクト･チームの一員”という意味はありません。
○ I'm on the staff of this company.
× I'm one of the staffs of this company.
（私は、この会社の職員です）
では、“あるプロジェクト･チームの一員”は、どう表現するのでしょうか。
I'm on the project staff.
I'm a staff member on the project.
（私は、その事業のスタッフの一員です）
しかし、日本人はスタッフという言葉を用いる場合、「スタッフである」という意味よりも「事業にかかわっている」という意味で使うほうが多いようです。
この意味の場合は普通、staff を用いずに、
I'm working on this project.
I'm on the project team.
と表現します。日本人は、staff という単語を用いすぎると思います。むしろ、全然使わないで別の表現を用いたほうがいいかもしれません。
《重要な関連表現》
I'm on the secretarial staff of ABC Company.
（私は、ABC社で秘書をしています）
I work under Mr. Tanaka.
（私は、田中さんの部下です）
