What kind of Japanese food is your favorite?

Have you tried any local foods in Chiba prefecture?

Many Japanese cities have unique specialty to attract tourists to their city.

They are delicious agricultural products, or the city’s local cuisine, using local products.

In other cases, the city develops new souvenirs and dishes for town revitalization.

Mobara city has launched “Mobaramen” as city’s specialty.

“Mobaramen” is a coined word, combining the city name “Mobara” and “ramen”, meaning the ramen of Mobara city.

Some ramen shops in the city have this Mobaramen on menu.

Have you ever tried it?

They have some basic rules to make Mobaramen.

Stir-fried pork belly on the top of noodle. Vegetables used for ramen must be local produce.

But soup taste can be varied depending on shops; Shio (salt), Miso(bean paste), Soy sauce, etc.

This time let’s try Mobaramen at Ramen shop Mugen!

The ramen shop is located in the area where many suburban chain stores are open.

It takes 30-minute walk from JR Mobara station to that shop.

Or, from JR Shim-Mobara station, you can walk in 15 minutes.

In the vicinity of the shop, you can find ASMO Shopping center, Kasumi supermarket and Shimamura clothing store.

This is Mobaramen that you can eat at Mugen.

Noodle is made from unpolished rice, that gives you a chewy feeling.

On top of ramen, they put stir-fried pork belly, bean sprouts, green onion(leek), spicy miso, and a raw egg.

(In this photo, you can see halved boiled eggs, but basic Mobaramen has just one egg)

Miso-based soup tastes rich.

They make ramen soup from chicken and pork bones, that are cooked for 12 hours. Seafood-based soup base is added to that soup stock.

If you wish, you may add a crushed garlic to your ramen.

This ramen shop Mugen is found at the address below.

Of course, they have other menus as well, such as gyoza, ordinary ramen, etc.

Due to the social environment, the opening hour is subject to change.
